This is a macroscan of an insect specimen of a Rhino Beetle (Oryctes nasicornis). A very old specimen, from Rome, Italy. Macroscans can be either geometry based or splat based depending on the application - This version has been reconstructed as a splat. The best way to view them is in VR which is the native medium for 3d content imo. Macroscans have also been 3d printed in a collaboration with Mimaki. www.macroscans.com
